Filming for "28 Years Later" is starting around this time, and an important new addition to the cast has already been announced: Erin Kellyman, the young English actress who joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe a few years ago as Karli in "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier."
According to Deadline, she has joined a star-studded cast that includes Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train), Ralph Fiennes (The Menu) and Jack O'Connell (Ferrari), along with the original lead Cillian Murphy, who this time will also serve as a producer and have a small cameo role, with a more extensive role planned for the subsequent chapters of what will be a trilogy.
That's right, this will be the first film in the sequel trilogy to "28 Days Later" and "28 Weeks Later," directed by the great Danny Boyle, the same director of the previous films, written by Alex Garland (who has also written the screenplays for "28 Years Later: Part 2" and "Part 3"), and also produced by Andrew MacDonald, the original producer of the first films.
Additionally, it was announced a few weeks ago that the second installment of this new trilogy will be directed by Nia DaCosta ("The Marvels").
For now, no details have been released about Erin Kellyman's role or the plot of the new film, but we know that the movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 20, 2025.
