40th edition of Uppsala Short Film Festival completed its run for the year

Uppsala Short Film Festival 2021 celebrated its 40th anniversary with a big party last Saturday. Between 25-31 October the festival screened 300 short films from all over the world. The screenings and seminars took place on four cinemas in Uppsala as well as on their vod service, Kortfilmfestivalen Play offering parts of the programme for those who preferred to watch the films from home.

Best Swedish Short Film: En Lång Utdragen Olyckshändelse by Lars Henrik Andersson, Lisa Rydberg

Uppsala Early Bird: Pink Rider by Daniel Aguirre

Special Mention: Madam You Made My Day by Monne Lindström

Audience Award: Alvaret by Maria Eriksson-Hecht

Uppsala Grand Prix: Noir-Soleil by Marie Larrivé (France)

Uppsala Award in Memory of Ingmar Bergman: Breaking Ground by Inès Girihirwe (Rwanda)

Uppsala Short Film Candidate for the European Film Awards 2022: Granny’s Sexual Life by Urška Djukič, Émilie Pigeard (Slovenia/France)


Special Mention: In Flow Of Words by Eliane Esther Bots (Netherlands)

Audience Award: Nanu Tudor by Olga Lucovnicova (Belgium/Portugal/Hungary/Moldova)
