ABC's “Women of the Movement” release date!

ABC's next limited series is about to hit the screens!

Based on a tragic true-story happened in 1950s Mississippi, “Women of the Movement” follows Mamie Till-Mobley (played by Tony award winner Adrienne Warren) who, after the murder of her 14-years-old son Emmett (played by Cedric Joe), becomes a civil rights activist and a teacher to educate people about what happened to her son.

The six-episode series was created by Marissa Jo Cerar, who co-produced it alongside Will Smith and Jay-Z.

The story of Till-Mobley is a story of incredible strength and of community, one that finds power in grief.

“Women of the Movement” will premiere on ABC on Thursday, January 6.
