Prepare for a blast from the past, because Axel Foley is rolling back into town! Netflix is cooking up the fourth edition of the iconic Beverly Hills Cop series, aptly named "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley," and the first sneak peek is nothing short of an 80s time capsule.
Directed by the maestro Mark Molloy, this nostalgia-packed sequel promises all the humor, action, and heartstrings you've been missing. Eddie Murphy, the sultan of swagger himself, is reprising his role as Axel Foley, Detroit's finest who's perpetually in pursuit of baddies in the ritzy streets of Beverly Hills. And guess what? The first official photo is out, and Axel Foley hasn't aged a day since '94. Is he secretly a vampire or just genetically blessed? We're investigating.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer spilled the beans, revealing that working with Murphy is like opening a box of surprise every day. "You never know what you’re going to get, and it’s always pretty brilliant. Every day he’s there throws you back to the ‘80s." Cue the neon lights and synth beats!
Returning to the limelight alongside Murphy are Judge Reinhold, Paul Reiser, and Bronson Pinochet. Newcomers include Taylour Paige as Axel's legal eagle daughter, Kevin Bacon as an LAPD special-unit officer, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Axel's new partner in crime-fighting.
Buckle up for a rollercoaster of laughs and emotions in 2024 when "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley" drops on Netflix. And remember, it's not just about the laughs and action; as producer Bruckheimer hints, there's some genuine "emotion" to tug at those heartstrings. Axel Foley is back, and this time, it's personal.
