Chiara Mastroianni, the daughter of legendary Italian actor Marcello Mastroianni will star in the new film “Marcello Mio” directed by Christophe Honoré, famous for directing French language films such as “On a Magical Night” which won prizes at the 2019 edition of the Cannes film festival.
"Marcello Mio" delves into the intriguing premise of Mastroianni's character, who embarks on a transformative journey to emulate her late father. Adopting his mannerisms and style, she immerses herself in his persona, ultimately becoming accepted as "Marcello" by those around her
Adding to the allure of the film is Mastroianni's real-life mother, the illustrious French actress Catherine Deneuve, portraying a fictionalized version of herself alongside her daughter. The film was shot in both Paris and Rome during the fall of 2023.
The film will compete for the Palme D’Or at the 2024 edition of the Cannes film festival.
