Last night the BAFTA ceremony took place, the celebration didn’t disappoint with many records being broken.
Oppenheimer won 7 awards which also includes Best Film. The biggest prize of them all.
Actors in Oppenheimer, Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr, both also won big awards on the stage. Presenting the best film award was Micheal J Fox who was brought onto the stage by David Tennent. A time traveller introduced by a time lord is quite fitting. Michael was met with a standing ovation from the crowd. Cillian Murphy won the BAFTA for Best Actor and said a speech.
“Oppenheimer was this colossally knotty complex man, he meant different things to different people. One man’s monster is another man’s hero. That’s why I love movies, as a place to interrogate & investigate that complexity.”
Robert Downey Jr won Best Supporting Actor and said a speech talking about the MCU:
“I played a guy named Tony in the MCU for about 12 years. And then recently Chris Nolan suggested I attempt an understated approach as a last-ditch effort to resurrect my dwindling credibility.”
