Thanks to the partnership with the International Olympic Committee, Netflix is releasing several sport docuseries.
The first sport docuseries is titled “Simone Biles: Rising,” consisting of four 45 minute episodes that explains the story of the American gymnast. Simone Biles has demonstrated to be the ideal figure to follow when facing hardships, giving valuable tips for those who want to pursue her same objectives. Unfortunately, she had to withdraw from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as she was struggling with mental health problems. Since then, Biles has done an incredible job in overcoming past traumas, embracing her emotions, and focusing on self-achievements. As a result, she is planning to join the Olympic stage once again to show her determination in the things she loves doing. The Biles series will debut its first part in July 2024
Another sport docuseries that will be released in July 2024 will be “Sprint,” which will tell more about the long journey of the top sprinters from the 2023 World Championships to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. “Sprint” will have two seasons, with six and four episodes, each 45 minutes long. Which are some of the athletes joining? Well, just to mention a few, Sha’Carri Richardson, Noah Lyles, and Shericka Jackson!
Basketball lovers, instead, will have to wait a bit longer for the basketball series debuting in 2025. With rare video including behind-the-scenes access and legends from past generations, the series will tell viewers more about the history of this sport and explain how basketball became a global phenomenon. Specifically, this basketball series will track potential medal contenders in men’s basketball across the world involved in the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
According to the newspaper “ Variety,” the vice president of nonfiction sports at Netflix, Gabe Spiter, shared his excitement when stating, “We’re excited to collaborate with the International Olympic Committee to level up our storytelling around three key competitions – gymnastics, basketball and sprinting – with this unique and extensive access at Paris 2024.”
Even though not yet released, all these upcoming sports docuseries seem to be promising and worth watching. All will teach inspiring lessons for sports lovers.
