Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogan Will Star in Azi Ansari Film “Good Fortune”

Actor and comedian Aziz Ansari is set to make his feature directorial debut with the upcoming comedy film "Good Fortune," which will star himself alongside Seth Rogen and Keanu Reeves. Lionsgate, the studio behind the movie, will launch sales for the film at the Cannes Film Festival next month. The plot details of the film are currently being kept under wraps.

"We have indeed found good fortune with this film. We love the script and believe strongly in Aziz as both a performer and a director. And when you add in Seth and Keanu — two incredible world-class talents — toplining alongside Aziz, this has the potential to be a very special film for us. We moved quickly to land this project once it was available," said Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair Joe Drake.

The film will be produced by Anthony Katagas, Alan Yang, and Ansari. Brady Fujikawa and Jon Humphrey will steer the movie for Lionsgate. Lionsgate's Motion Picture Group head, Joe Drake, added that Reeves is one of the studio's top talents, given his starring roles in the "John Wick" franchise, while Rogen's production company, Point Grey, is based at Lionsgate.

Ansari is known for his work on the award-winning 2015 Netflix series "Master of None," which he co-created with Alan Yang. Ansari has also received seven Emmy nominations and has won twice for his writing on "Master of None." He is represented by WME, 3 Arts, Ocean Avenue, and Yorn Levine. Reeves is represented by WME, Sugar23, and Ziffren Brittenham, while Rogen is represented by UTA, Principal Entertainment LA, and Felker Toczek.

Last year, Ansari was set to make his feature directorial debut on the Searchlight project "Being Mortal," but production was suspended after an investigation began into an on-set complaint of inappropriate behavior involving actor Bill Murray. Murray later stated, "I did something I thought was funny, and it wasn't taken that way."
