The action comedy Free Guy: Taking Control, starring Ryan Reynolds, has got a new poster with the cast reunited. Written by Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn, the feature film is directed by Shawn Levy. Joining Reynolds and Comer in the cast are Lil Rey Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Joe Keery, Taika Waititi and Camille Kostek.
In Free Guy, a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself. Now, in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way…before it is too late.
Talking about the project, Reynolds had said, "I was looking to do something that felt the way I felt when I watched Back To The Future for the first time. I wanted to do something that felt like you were stepping into a world of wish-fulfilment and possibilities - a world that was funny, but had real stakes and real heart."
After being originally scheduled to arrive in July 2020, Free Guy’s release date is currently slated as August 13th in the US, UK and Sweden. On top of that, the film has a number of release dates depending on the country in question with arriving a few days earlier in the likes of France and Italy (August 11th).
