New Warner Bros trailer for the movie Wonka reveals Timothée Chalamet playing the young Willy Wonka

Wonka is a musical-fantasy movie directed by Paul King which takes inspiration from the 1964 novel Charlie and The Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. The film stands as a prequel for the well known Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory from 1971 and focuses on the adventures of a young Willy Wonka as he is about to open the most famous chocolate factory in the world.

The cast includes Timothée Chalamet as the main protagonist, followed by names such as Olivia Colman, Rowan Atkinson, Calah Lane, Colin O’Brien, Matt Lucas, Simon Farnaby, Natasha Rothwell, Keegan-Michael Key, Sally Hawkins, Rufus Jones as supporting roles. As stated during an interview for The Hollywood Reporter, Key exalted Chalamet’s work as Wonka by saying “There’s this hopeful quality that he gives the character, a kind of indomitable quality that he’ll never quit, he’s always up for the next thing”.

On July 11 Warner Bros released the official trailer for the movie where we can have some more glimpses of Chalamet’s portrayal.

The first ever trailer came out in April 2023 and the official movie will be in theaters the next December 15, 2023.
