The Cannes Film Festival declares with an official note that Russian delegations will not be invited to the next edition of the film festival (17-28 of May).
The organizers stress that they want to "nevertheless, thanks to the courage of all those in Russia who have taken risks to protest against the assault and invasion of Ukraine”. Among them are artists and film professionals who have never stopped fighting against the regime. Faithful to its history that began in 1939, during the resistance to the Fascist and Nazi dictatorship, the Cannes Film Festival "will always help artists and professionals in the sector who raise their voices to denounce violence, repression and injustices. The main aim is defending peace and freedom".
