Pixar’s Elemental set to close Cannes Film Festival with a premiere

Pixar will be heading back to Cannes with a premiere of the film “Elemental” during closing night on May 27, they announced this Wednesday. “Elemental” will be the fourth feature film from Pixar Animation Studios to premiere after “Up”, “Inside Out” and “Soul”.

The animated “Elemental”, produced by Peter Sohn and written by Brenda Hsueh, revolves around the characters Ember and Wade, in a city where fire-,water-, earth- and air-residents live together and are about to discover how much they have in common.

The original English language voice cast is Mamoudou Athie, Ronnie del Carmen, Leah Lewis, Shila Ommi, Catherine O’Hara, Mason Wertheimer, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Joe Pera.

Sohn is known for directing Pixar’s "The Good Dinosaur" and for being the voice actor of Emile in "Ratatouille", Squishy in "Monsters University" and Sox in "Lightyear".

The film is set for release in theaters June 16 in the U.S and June 21 in France.
