Ridley Scott casted lead actor for his Gladiator sequel

Since the original Gladiator was released in 2000, Ridley Scott's Gladiator has taken a while to return, but now an exciting casting update has arrived.
The 26-year-old Irish actor Paul Mescal will take on the role of Lucius, the son of Lucilla, who Conni Nielsen played in the first Gladiator. Mescal is most known for his performances in the Aftersun and Normal People, the latter of which led to an Emmy nomination.
Gladiator 2 will be directed and produced by Scott, with Napoleon screenwriter David Scarpa handling the script. It was already known this sequel was in development in 2018, there’s still no word on when it might release. So, stay tuned for the new updates.
