Seth Rogan, one of the leading producers for this Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Feature Film production, has announced the star-studded cast that will interpret the iconic characters of this beloved franchise. The upcoming “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" will be directed by Jeff Rowe, head writer for “Mitchels vs the Machines” for which he won in 2022 The Annie Award for Outstanding Achievement for Writing in a Feature Production.
The turtle brothers will be voiced by Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, Shamon Brown Jr. as Michaelangelo, Brady Noon as Raphael, and Micah Abbey as Donatello. In addition, action star Jackie Chan will voice the beloved rat mentor figure of Master Splinter. Seth Rogen will also be part of the cast as the voice of the warthog villain Bepop, while the famed WWE wrestler turned movie star John Cena will voice his rhinoceros accomplice Rocksteady.
Other memorable cast members will include Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Ice Cube as superfly, Natasia Demetrious as Wingnut, Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, Maya Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom, and finally Rose Byrne as Leatherhead.
Seth Rogan has been quoted saying that what we should expect from this project is something “deeply personal” and will focus its story on the teenage component of the main characters. The cast has also contributed to the script by sharing their adolescent experiences. Ultimately, the story focuses on “awkwardness and insecurity and a desire to belong and be accepted” as an honest and relatable portrayal of the teenage experience.
The release date for this feature film will be on the 4th of august 2023, and with such a cast of care behind the production of this project, we can expect a personal and nostalgic experience.
