Last Friday, the fantasy drama Sweet Tooth was released on Netflix. The series is based on a comic of the same name by Jeff Lemire and follows Gus (Christian Convery), who is half human/half deer.
After a decade of living safely in his seaweed forest home, Gus, unexpectedly befriends a wandering loner named Jepperd (Nonso Anozie). Together they set out an extraordinary adventure across America in search of answers about Gus' origins, Jepperd's past and the meaning of home. This adventure is full of unexpected allies and enemies.
The American review-aggregation Rotten Tomatoes reported an approval rating of 98% with an average rating of 7.99/10. Metacritic gave the series an average score of 78 out of 100 indicating "generally favorable reviews".
The series, which was filmed in New Zealand, consists of eight episodes of only one season at the moment. We will just have to wait some months to see if Netflix is going to make Sweet Tooth season 2.
