Tom Cruise amazed the Stade de France with his stunt man abilities

At this point, the Oscar-winning director dropped the bombshell, revealing that he is officially working on a new feature film.

Lips strictly sealed on the movie in progress. Or the consequences, he joked, would be devastating: "My film is totally top-secret: if I talked about it, I’d have to send a Terminator back in time to stop myself from revealing anything!"

The director also took the opportunity to confirm that after Avatar: Fire & Ash (the third installment of the renowned franchise), he will also direct Avatar 4 and Avatar 5, set for release in 2029 and 2031. "Absolutely," he assured, "I mean, they would have to physically stop me. I have a lot of energy, I love what I do. Why wouldn't I? The scripts are complete and ready. [...] The only way to stop me from doing it is to run me over with a bus and leave me dying in a hospital. Only at that point, I’d call someone else to direct those films."

The world-renowned actor Tom Cruise was the star of the 2024 Olympics closing ceremony, turning it into an unforgettable event. With a figure like Tom Cruise, an ordinary show was out of the question. The actor descended from the Stade de France, reenacting one of his most famous scenes, the iconic one from the first "Mission: Impossible." After shaking hands with U.S. gymnast Simone Biles, Cruise took the Olympic flag and rode off on a Harley-Davidson LiveWire S2 Del Mar.

Cruise's connection with motorcycles is well known, as evidenced by the famous scenes in "Top Gun" with the Kawasaki Ninja GPz 900R and in "Top Gun: Maverick" with the Kawasaki Ninja H2. It seems that Cruise can't stay away from motorcycles, and the 2024 Olympics show proves it.

Cruise's performance was both spectacular and evocative, and seeing a motorcycle in the spotlight surely thrilled fans. The actor and the Del Mar symbolically "headed off" to Los Angeles, the future host of the 2028 Olympics.

According to rumors, the actor was on his way to California, but without a helmet... Let's remember that the belief that wearing a helmet is not mandatory in California is just a myth. It's certain that as soon as Cruise left the Stade de France, he put one on.

It's no secret that Tom Cruise loves taking risks: stunts have become his trademark. By avoiding the use of stunt doubles, the actor always takes on the challenges himself, and this time, his daring moved from the screen to real life. To close the Paris 2024 Olympic Games during the ceremony on August 11, Cruise delivered a performance that will be remembered for a long time.

Tom Cruise carrying the Olympic Games´flag

For days, there were rumors about a possible spectacular stunt. According to the tabloid ‘Tmz’, Cruise had planned to parachute from the top of the Stade de France and land on the field carrying the Olympic flag, symbolizing the transition of the Games to the next host city, Los Angeles.

The plan, according to leaks, included a pre-recorded video in which Cruise flies from France to Los Angeles. Then, the actor would have parachuted a second time to land on the Hollywood sign, where he would transform the "O"s into Olympic rings, finally handing the flag to Olympic cyclist Kate Courtney.

Courtney then rode across Los Angeles, accompanied by athletes Michael Johnson and Jagger Eaton, before reaching a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at Venice Beach, where Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre  also performed.

By participating in this spectacular event, Cruise confirmed his passion for the Olympic Games. In Paris, he was spotted attending various events, including the swimming competitions on July 27, the women's gymnastics qualifiers on July 28, and the women's soccer gold medal match on August 10, where the United States defeated Brazil.
