Tom Cruise awarded an honorary Palme d’Or Award at Cannes 2022!

Tom Cruise was awarded with an honorary Palme d’Or Award at Cannes 2022 for his first visit there in 30 years. Cruise was awarded the Palme d’Or in combination with the premiere and launch of “Top Gun: Maverick”.

Tom Cruise, one of the most iconic and recognizable movie stars for around 35 years, a career that took off a little with The Outsiders in 1983 but really launched with the first Top Gun in 1986. All movies he has starred in have grossed around 8,5 billion dollars in total and there will definitely be more in the future. The last time Tom Cruise was in Cannes was for his movie “Far and Away” when being married to Nicole Kidman and now he is back for the premiere of “Top Gun: Maverick”, 30 years later. Tom Cruise was awarded with a surprise honorary Palme d’Or Award for his devotion to cinema.
