Get ready for some more Venom and Ghostbusters.
Sony Pictures has just announced sequels to both. A third installment in the ”Venom” franchise has been greenlit, continuing the story of journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and his parasitical alien sidekick Venom, who has entered his body and given him superpowers. The movie was announced at CinemaCon, but aside from the logo, the announcement was very light on details. No release date has been given yet, but considering the box-office success of the previous two installments, a third installment is a given for Sony.
Even less has been revealed about the upcoming Ghostbusters sequel, also announced by Sony at CinemaCon. The latest movie in the Ghostbusters franchise, ”Ghostbusters: Afterlife” serves as a sequel to Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters II (1989), and follows a new set of characters, discovering their connection to the original Ghostbusters and battling new supernatural threats.
As no more details have been released yet, we will have to wait and see what directions the Venom and Ghostbusters sequels will move in.
